What age range do you work with?

We love working with as young as 4 years old and have patients in their 70s. It is never too late to optimize oral function.

Do you work with insurance?

AMW Myofunctional Therapy is a fee-for-service practice, so we can focus on providing the best care to our patients. We do not work with insurance, but we accept HSA cards.

Do you see patients online?

Yes. We see patients both in person at our office in Costa Mesa, CA, and virtually through our HIPAA-compliant software.

Do you offer a discount for families?

Yes! We offer a complimentary discount for additional family members. The second, third, and fourth members from the same household all receive reduced rates as part of our family-friendly pricing.

How does therapy work?

You can start with a free inquiry call or schedule a comprehensive assessment. After booking, you’ll receive a link to our secure patient portal to complete intake forms (due 24 hours before your appointment).

Our 90 minute assessment includes a review of your concerns, medical history, and an evaluation of facial muscle function using photos, videos, and snack-based exercises.

If therapy is recommended, sessions are 45 minutes and scheduled weekly or biweekly. Each plan is personalized to support your specific goals and lasting results. Please note our Mini Myo program follows a different format.

How long does treatment take?

Treatment can range from 8-12 months for adults and children. However, this is not a rule. It depends on the chief complaint, motivation of the patient, completion of at home repetitions, and if any other therapy treatment modalities are involved.

Who is going to be doing my therapy?

You will either be seeing Allison or Alyssa.

Can I stop treatment at any time?

Yes. If for any reason you do not wish to continue therapy, send us an email and we will be happy to follow your wishes.

Do you charge a cancellation fee?

Yes. We kindly ask for at least two business days’ notice for cancellations. Cancellations made less than two business days before your appointment will incur a cancellation fee. To help you stay on track, we send appointment reminders 72 hours in advance.
